KIRO 7 Eyewitness News is declaring Sen. Patty Murray the winner of Washington's U.S. Senate race based on information from UW Professor Matt Barreto.
New vote totals posted by the Washington Secretary of State's office Thursday evening showed Murray leading Republican challenger Dino Rossi by about 50,000 votes.As of 4:21 p.m. Thursday, Murray had 925,730 votes for 51.28 percent of votes tallied; Rossi had 879,362 votes for 48.72 percent of votes tallied.
