The annual trip to Otter Crest, south of Depoe Bay, OR, is but a memory to the Kardnoses. Just a suggestion - if you're looking to make a local excursion and have a few days, drive Highway 101 South on the Oregon coast. Oh...and don't forget to buy saltwater taffy.
