Just what downtown Oly needs, another business that sells alcohol. A fancy wine bar is still just another bar.

Gotta agree with Red here. Downtown Olympia has far more than its fair share of drinking establishments> With that comes the mayhem of anti-social behavior of a tiny but very destructive minority of the bar's patrons.
I would like to see a moratorium on new liquor licenses in downtown.
It is more than ironic that when there is talk of an alcohol impact area ordinance Olympia gets yet another place to imbibe.
Anon, we're going to take your ThurstonBlog secret decoder ring if you don't stop disagreeing with me, His Royal Blogness.
As a recovered alcoholic, I KNOW that a problem drinker will always find a drink, regardless of how you try to restrict him/her. Take Prohibition as your best example.
This wine bar is a touch of class in a community that could use such. The wine man hit the nail on Red's head when he told him that the problem was between his ears.
Have to agree that a wine tasting bar is not just another bar. McCrea's response was right on and classy, too, just as the new establishment will be.
But, Red wouldn't get that because he probably doesn't even have taste in his mouth.
