Glenn Beck Tells His Critics to ‘Go to Hell’
by James Sims
Feb 11th, 2011
Glenn Beck can’t seem to handle the heat surrounding his rants about Egyptian protestors being linked to Communists and Islamic fundamentalists, with the Fox News host telling his critics to “go to hell,” according to the Huffington Post.
Saying that “we are witnessing the birth of the new world order” and claiming Obama had some type of connection to the alleged Communists orchestrating protests in Egypt, Beck finally targeted those speaking out against his beliefs, adding, “you want to call me crazy? Go to hell. Call me crazy all you want.”
Those critics now include Weekly Standard’s editor Bill Kristol, who recently wrote that Beck’s rants are not helpful. “He’s marginalizing himself, just as his predecessors did back in the early 1960s,” Kristol wrote.
And The Week reports that criticism toward Beck is growing amongst conservative circles. “Conservative annoyance with Glenn Beck’s messianism has been growing,” said a Religion Dispatches writer.
It should be interesting to watch Beck’s next program, as his rants are bound to be heated following Friday’s breaking news that Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak has resigned has president.
