One of the posted comments to this item was "you can't fix stupid...but you can vote it out of office." Unfortunately I don't think that will happen-- after all, this guy is from Texas, land of the wingnuts.

Texas Rep. calls on Wolf Blitzer to apologize
By Dylan Byers, April 16, 2013
Republican congressman Steve Stockman (Texas-36) has called on CNN's Wolf Blitzer to apologize for using the Boston bombing to "attack political opponents" -- despite the fact that Blitzer appears to have done no such thing.
Hours after the two explosions went off in Boston, Blitzer noted that Apr. 15 was a state holiday: "It is a state holiday in Massachusetts today called Patriots' Day, and who knows if that had anything at all to do with these explosions," he said during the broadcast.
In a matter of seconds, Blitzer was being accused on Twitter of speculating that anti-tax groups were responsible. Minutes later, he was being accused of attacking the Tea Party. By the time Rep. Stockman tweeted, at 5:26 p.m., Blitzer was receiving some of the worst invectives strangers could make.
"Wolf Blizter should immediately apologize," the Texas congressman tweeted. "The mainstream media once again exploit killings to attack political opponents."
Blitzer's remark was hardly an effort to attack political opponents, nor was it comparable to Brian Ross's warrantless speculation that the Aurora theater shooting suspect may have been a member of the Tea Party.
UPDATE (11:00 a.m.): Blitzer responds, via Twitter:
Wolf Blitzer @wolfblitzer@DylanByers I never said what the Congressman alleges. Check the video @Buzzfeed http://www.buzzfeed.com/dorsey/wolf-blitzer-did-not-blame-the-tea-party-for-boston-explosio … He should check his facts.7:34 AM - 16 Apr 2013..................................................................................................................................
