COMMENTS:
* Texas, why do u keep giving us such idiots?
* ... the guy hasn't changed. This is just the first of many feet he'll stick in his mouth before he bows out.
* If this act had been committed by a brown-skinned individual it would be an act of terrorism but when committed by a white guys it is an "accident." What the F is wrong with this country?
* The Republican Party and their media, almost to a person, have been LYING to this country since this incident occurred. FOX has been telling people that they were killed because they were "Christians". Others have said that it was because of drugs, because of mental illness, because of transexuals, "not understanding where salvation comes from", or because "we may never know". WE DO KNOW! THE KILLER HIMSELF SAID WHY. Now we just have to ask ourselves, why are the Republicans lying and obfuscating for racists, terrorists, and killers?
* Even the killer's father and uncle said it was because of his hate of the blacks...His OWN uncle said he would flip the switch to the electric chair..!!
* The 'accident' was when the voters voted for Perry and other idiots like him. Thank God this man will not be our next president.

Perry calls Charleston church shootings an ‘accident’
By Todd J. Gilman, June 20, 2015
Rick Perry said Friday that the massacre at a black church in Charleston was an “accident” as he accused President Barack Obama of succumbing to a “knee jerk” liberal impulse to push a gun-control agenda.
A spokesman for the Republican presidential candidate said it was clear he meant to say “incident” and simply misspoke. But it quickly prompted outrage and comparisons to the verbal foibles that doomed Perry’s first White House campaign.
Perry also suggested in an appearance on Newsmax TV that misuse of therapeutic drugs to treat mental illness might have been a more significant factor in the attack than access to firearms. Right Wing Watch, a group that monitors conservatives, reported on the appearance.
Blaming the attack on “evil and cowardice,” the former governor called it premature to identify ways the attack might have been averted.
“This is the MO of this administration anytime there is an accident like this,” Perry said, asserting that since Obama “doesn’t like guns … he uses every opportunity” to push an anti-gun agenda.
Later, Perry spokesman Travis Considine said that “from the context of his comments, it is clear Governor Perry meant ‘incident.’”
In 2011, Perry’s presidential run was largely doomed by a series of controversial statements and mangled words. The most prominent was his “oops” moment, when, in a live televised debate, he could not name the third agency of government he proposed to eliminate.
In Friday’s interview, Perry also noted that the Charleston attack was “a crime of hate.” But he also seemed to play down that motive.
“There were more people than that killed in Paris,” he said, comparing the Wednesday night massacre in Charleston, S.C., to the Charlie Hebdo attacks that left a dozen people dead.
A strong supporter of gun rights, Perry criticized Obama for “the knee-jerk reaction of saying if we can just take all the guns away, this won’t happen.” Treatment of those with mental illness, he said, is another, potentially more critical factor.
“These individuals have been medicated, and there may be a real issue in this country from the standpoint of these drugs and how they’re used,” he said. “The Veterans Administration for instance is handing out these opioids in massive amounts. And then people question well why can’t these young individuals get work, or why is the suicide rate so high.”
This isn’t the first time Perry has depicted an event others deemed avoidable as something accidental. He blamed an “act of God” for the Deepwater Horizon spill, a well blowout that killed 11 workers and spewed millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico for three months.
“From time to time there are going to be things that occur that are acts of God that cannot be prevented,” he said.
