"... Americans said that the 'most important problem' in the United States in 2014 was 'Government/Congress/Politicians.'" Gotta agree with that!

Poll: Politicians, not the economy, worry Americans most
By Kendall Breitman, January 2, 2015

It’s not the economy, stupid — it’s you.

That seems to be the message to politicos of a Gallup study released Friday, in which Americans said that the “most important problem” in the United States in 2014 was “Government/Congress/Politicians.” On average, 18 percent of Americans defined this as their top problem for the year.

It’s the first time since 2007 that the economy did not take the top spot as Americans’ biggest concern in the survey, and the first time in its history that politicians were labeled the country’s most important problem.

The economy came in a close second, however, with 17 percent — a statistical dead heat with first place — while unemployment and jobs were seen as the most important issue by 15 percent of Americans. Health care and immigration also made it into the country’s top five concerns, with 10 and eight percent, respectively, of Americans highly concerned.

The survey was constructed as a 12-month average of Gallup Poll Social Surveys taken throughout 2014, among about 12,000 adults in total. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point.
