Tea Party actions are a nightmare

Dream or Nightmare: Bogeyman or Suicide Bomber

We are told by voices from the Extreme Right that there is nothing to fear as we approach the debt ceiling for our country that will take place on October 17th. This is all some posturing by the President to make us afraid. Nothing is really going to happen. Stay calm and stand firm on defunding Obamacare or any other law that the Tea Party doesn’t like.

Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew said breaching the debt limit could freeze the credit markets, weaken the dollar, push U.S. interest rates up, and reverberate on global markets, causing a crisis similar to the one in 2008, according to an Oct. 3 report.

Economic experts say Congress is playing a dangerous political game with the economy.

“Continuing to delay and continuing to punt, I fear, is really a terrible commentary on Congress’ ability to put country first instead of party first,” said Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and director of the fiscal-policy program at the New America Foundation, a nonpartisan think tank.

“Nothing to see here” says the Tea Party as we brace for the approaching train wreck. Their voice is the only one that seems to think that continuing to shut down the government is a “dream” as the rest of us prepare for the nightmare.

Ted Cruz and Randy Neugebauer may think they look good in suicide vests but I don’t think they understand what they are doing (or what their continued stoppage will do). I believe that they are willing to take us all over the cliff with them in what they see as a flame of glory.

Just remember who led the charge. Who let children go without cancer treatment. Who let loan programs to farmer shut down. Who left college students unable to get loans for college. Smiling Randy and Tail Gunner Cruz.
