Boehner: ‘I disagree’ with Sarah Palin on impeaching Obama
By Robert Schroeder, July 9, 2014
Two words was all it took on Wednesday for House Speaker John Boehner to shoot down fellow Republican Sarah Palin’s call to impeach President Barack Obama.
“I disagree,” Boehner told reporters at a regular press briefing.
Palin, the former vice-presidential candidate and former Alaska governor, published an op-ed Tuesday on Breitbart urging Obama’s removal from office and accusing him of leaving the U.S. border open and allowing undocumented immigrants to easily enter the country. From the op-ed:
“It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.”Palin has mocked the lawsuit Boehner and House Republicans are preparing against Obama for his use of executive actions. “You don’t bring a lawsuit to a gunfight,” Palin said Tuesday on Fox News’s “Hannity” show.
House Republicans are gearing up for a three-week process of getting legislation to the floor that would authorize their lawsuit.
