Letter: Tired of hearing from Koch brothers
By Marty Kushler, August 25, 2014
It’s bad enough that we have to put up with the endless political TV ads paid for by the billionaire Koch brothers, telling us how Democrats are terrible. Now we have to endure an editorial by Charles Koch (Opinion, Aug. 12), lecturing us about how we need to work harder and do away with government programs. Koch has the nerve to suggest we don’t have the “values” to work, whereas his father made him spend his free time “working at unpleasant jobs”... implying that if others were just willing to work hard like him, they too could be successful.
Poor Charles ... he seems to have forgotten that he and his brothers inherited a billion-dollar industrial empire from their father. These days he spends millions to elect politicians who will cut his taxes and let his companies escape regulation. That is injury enough, but now he insults us with editorials about how we need to be taught a “willingness to work.”
Here’s a news flash for you Charles, we’re sick of hearing from you.
