More GOP hypocrites! And on the state House ETHICS COMMITTEE to boot!

COMMENTS:
*  Here we go again...Republican mantra; Do as I say not as I do.
*  No need to make up stuff like this when there are these deeply religious, family valued Republicans to demonstrate for us!!!!!
*  Yeah, but. . . they are forgiven because Jeebus!
*  I'm a Republican and I am angry that these 2 tried to cover up their affair by saying the forest ranger was lying. I hope their spouses file for divorce and take everything they have!
   *  You're a RINO. No real Republican would ever admit to being a hypocrite and a liar.
*  Let's see: adulterers, liars, public fornicators and on the Minnesota House ETHICS Panel. Another GOP feather in their cap - move over Kim Davis, you're conservative stage is getting too crowded with HYPOCRITES!
I don't care at all what these politicians do in their private lives, except when these Republicans throw their "family values" BS in our faces and play all holier than thou, and lecture everyone else about what they can and should do in the privacy of their homes.  Just one more example of massive hypocrisy of the GOP.
*  And they are on the Ethics Panel.  That is priceless!!!!

Republicans sorry for saying ranger lied about making out
By Kyle Potter, September 14, 2015

Two Republican lawmakers whom a park ranger cited for making out in a public park apologized Monday for accusing that ranger of lying and stepped down from a Minnesota House ethics panel in an apparent effort to head off a complaint from Democrats.

In separate statements, Reps. Tara Mack and Tim Kelly made little reference to the Aug. 25 incident in which a Dakota County park ranger said he found the pair making out in a car. The ranger wrote in his notes that Mack's pants were unzipped and pulled down.

Mack and Kelly — who are married to other people — originally called the officer's account "an absolute lie," insisting they met in Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan to swap documents relating to a health insurance company. They vowed to lodge a formal complaint against the ranger.

They later backed down from that promised complaint and each paid $260 misdemeanor fines — actions the House Democrats said amounted to admissions of guilt.

After speaking with Republican House Speaker Kurt Daudt over the weekend, Mack and Kelly issued carefully parsed apologies Monday — not directed toward the park ranger who cited them, but to law enforcement in general.

"After serious reflection on the last two weeks, I can say that I am disappointed in myself for the way I handled my disagreement with a park ranger," said Kelly, who lives in Red Wing. "I apologize to my constituents, to the law enforcement community and to the state of Minnesota."

Mack said she has the "utmost respect" for the work of law enforcement personnel and apologized for offending any officers.

Democratic Rep. Dan Schoen called on Mack and Kelly last week to apologize to the Dakota County park ranger. A police officer himself, Schoen said their apology Monday didn't address the issue at hand — accusing a law enforcement official of lying.

"Neither Rep. Kelly or Rep. Mack have apologized for making those accusations," he said in a statement. "It is unacceptable to allow Rep. Kelly and Rep. Mack's serious allegations to go unresolved."

In a separate announcement, Daudt said the pair has agreed to step down from the House Ethics Committee and has been replaced by two other Republicans.

House Democrats still could use the committee — comprising three Republicans and three Democrats — as an avenue to lodge a complaint against Mack and Kelly, who are both powerful committee chairs in the state House, where they've served since 2009. If they had remained on the panel, a complaint would have forced their recusal and weighed the panel heavily on the Democrats' side.
