Thankfully here at ThurstonBlog we can choose whether or not to cover Trump! [snicker]

COMMENTS:
*  Uh oh, Tom, I predict that very soon you will be blasted by Trump in the media... or sued. ;)
*  Good for Tom Brokaw. A lot of people would call in sick if they had to cover Trump even one night. Not everyone has fallen for Trump's lies.
*  That's hilarious. I know I'm sick of Trump already and we have over a year left to listen to this sanctimonious blowhard spew insults -- assuming he stays in play that long. You have to feel sorry for reporters about now.
*  God bless him. One of the few news people I still have respect for. Yeah he is old. So what!? If you are lucky enough/wise enough; maybe you will be to, someday. Tell it like it is Tom, you could never come off as ignorantly as Trump. (who cares if ignorant is in vogue. some of us march to our own drum.)
*  If Trump doesn't know the difference between Quds and Kurds, how will he be able to find a Mexican ?
*  Yeah I agree listening to Trump everyday gets a little old.

Legendary newsman Tom Brokaw says he would 'call in sick' if he had to cover Donald Trump every night
By Bryan Logan, September 6, 2015

For about as many fans, followers, and supporters as Donald Trump has, the 2016 Republican presidential front-runner has just as many people who aren't that impressed.

You can perhaps count former NBC newsman Tom Brokaw as one of them, according to a Mediaite report. Brokaw, whose journalism career spans nearly 50 years, was at the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, touting his new book, "A Lucky Life Interrupted."

During one part of the gathering, Brokaw spoke offhand about the current state of political journalism — specifically the 2016 presidential election:

Donald Trump has held a durable lead in most national polls, despite multiple missteps and gaffes by the candidate and seemingly endless feuds with anyone who challenges him.

Most of Trump's Republican rivals have remained hands-off, except for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who recently began taking more swings at the billionaire candidate.
