Bill O'Reilly declares victory in the 'War on Christmas'

Bill O'Reilly, who has become Christianity's General Patton in the so-called “War on Christmas," declared victory on Wednesday.
“We won the war," O'Reilly said on his Fox News show after learning that a recent Pew survey found 72 percent of Americans say Christian symbols like Nativity scenes should be allowed on government property.
According to the poll, conducted earlier this month, 44 percent support the public displays whether or not symbols of other faiths are included.
“It isn't a mythical war on Christmas," the “O'Reilly Factor" host continued. “It's real, and we just won."
O'Reilly continued his victory speech in an appearance on NBC's “Late Night With Seth Meyers."
“I've been doing this for about 10 years, and this is the only year we have not had a store command its employees not to say 'Merry Christmas,'" he said. “It's over, we won. Anyone can say 'Merry Christmas' if they want to. They don't have to — I'm not Stalin. But I'm very happy."
“I might have just fulfilled my last obligation on earth," O'Reilly joked.
“But if the 'War on Christmas is over,'" Ben Dimiero wrote Thursday on the progressive watchdog website Media Matters, "someone forgot to tell O'Reilly's colleagues at Fox Nation, who are warning readers this morning of the supposedly ongoing 'War on Christmas.'"
Fox Nation, which is owned by the top-rated cable news network, published an excerpt from a story by the Washington Times about the slate of “War on Christmas” programming planned for Christmas Eve and Christmas on Atheist TV, featuring “original programs proclaiming the truth about Christmas.”
“Christmas is hard for many atheists," American Atheists President Dave Silverman said in a statement quoted by the paper, "so we will provide programming free from superstition and fairy tales that allows families to watch together and not worry about being preached at."
Perhaps O'Reilly will tune in.
