A Primer for Voters

Here's what every sensible voter knows today: If you are a woman and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you work for an hourly wage and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you are a union member and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you are active or retired military and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you are a member of the middle class and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you rely on Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you are unemployed or underemployed and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you own or work for a small business and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you are poor and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own self-interest. If you are in school or if you have children in school and you vote Republican, you are voting against your own or your family's self-interest. If you are a man with a wife, daughter, mother, or sister and you vote Republican, you are voting against your family's self-interest. I could say more, but you get the picture.
