"... Limbaugh is justifying sexual assault and date rape. ... you’d think warranting rape would finally be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and gets him removed from the air for good."

Hateful Misogynist Rush Limbaugh Tells Men That Women Mean Yes When They Say No
By Justin Baragona, September 15, 2014

Another day, another new low reached by bottom-scraping conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh. In this instance, Limbaugh justified rape culture by telling men that no really means yes. On Monday’s broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show, Limbaugh discussed the ongoing issues that the NFL has experienced surrounding domestic violence. He then went off on a tangent regarding women sports journalists calling for the NFL to change their culture and how it might mean a rethinking about how we discuss certain issues that affect men and women in today’s society. As one would surmise when it comes to Limbaugh, the hater of ‘feminazis’ felt that females asking for more serious conversations about domestic violence and sexual violence was just more ‘chickification’ and ‘wussification’ of our society and an attempt by women to reprogram men.

After whining about a female sportswriter use the term ‘reprogramming’ when talking about how we discuss certain issues with males as they are growing up, El Rushbo turned his attention to colleges and universities to prove his point that men are being made victims when it comes to sexual violence and accusations of rape. Prior to talking about the rules in place at Ohio State University regarding sexual assault, Rush said men are avoiding higher education now due to the liberal feminist agenda in place. (Sounded to me like Rush was merely justifying his flunking out of college.) In typical Limbaugh fashion, he also blamed Obama for men becoming soft and brought up climate change being a hoax, just because.

Below is what Limbaugh had to say about Ohio State’s rules on sexual assault, courtesy of his website (emphasis mine):
Here’s what consent is at Ohio State. After you and your partner decide that you’re gonna make out or have sex, you agree to do it, then you have to agree on why. “Consent is the act of knowingly, actively and voluntarily agreeing explicitly to engage in sexual activity. Consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn at any time.”

“You have to be sober, not coerced, imaginative, enthusiastic, creative, wanted, informed, mutual, honest, verbal. The absence of ‘no’ does not mean ‘yes.’ It must be asked every step of the way. It cannot be implied or assumed, even in the context of a relationship. Circumstances in which a person CANNOT legally give consent: (No matter what he or she might verbalize): The person is severely intoxicated or unconscious as a result of alcohol or drugs. The person is physically or developmentally disabled. The victim is under the age 13 or is elderly. So as long as the girl is thirteen years old, she can give consent for sex, provided it’s creative and enthusiastic.”

“Consent must be freely given, can be withdrawn at any time, and the absence of ‘no’ does not mean ‘yes.'” How many of you guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that “no” means “yes” if you know how to spot it? Let me tell you something. In this modern world, that is simply not tolerated. People aren’t even gonna try to understand that one. I mean, it used to be said it was a cliche. It used to be part of the advice young boys were given.

I don’t know how men can be held to that Ohio State agreement, policy, anyway, because everybody knows in sex men don’t think with their brains. Not the one in their heads, anyway. It’s just so silly.
There you have it. Rush Limbaugh is apparently upset that no means non and does not, in fact, mean yes. In his mind, and the advice he’d give young men, women really mean yes when they tell men no. It is up to the man to keep pressing the issue. Essentially, Limbaugh is justifying sexual assault and date rape. He is saying that men can’t be held to any kind of standard. They can’t be expected to know when women they are sexually attracted to really don’t want to reciprocate their advances. Men are just different than women. They have to be given some leeway, you see. If they are too aggressive or thought that no really meant yes, well that just shouldn’t be held against them. Heck, they aren’t thinking when it comes to sex.

I keep telling myself that nothing Rush says anymore shocks me. This shocked me. It is hard to think that in this day and age, that we have someone who is listened to by millions of people telling his audience that it is a shame that we are telling men that no means no. Limbaugh talked about how we are getting rid of the art of seduction. In Rush’s judgment, seduction is about the man doing whatever he wants and eventually getting a woman to engage in sex with him, by any means necessary. If a woman says no, she is just playing games with the man, because as Rush will tell you, all women are ‘sluts’ and ‘prostitutes’ who can’t keep their legs closed.

Rush Limbaugh is a disgusting individual. While this in itself is not news, you’d think warranting rape would finally be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and gets him removed from the air for good.
