Good job, Sen. Stabenow!

COMMENTS:
*  Tom Cotton a freshman congressman with 2 months in office got people such as McCain, McConnell, Graham, Rubio, Paul, and Cruz to sign his traitorous letter. It's hard to believe that those wishing to be president would sign such a letter not only showing America but also the rest of the world how poor their judgement is. It's also sad to see such war horses as Hatch,McCain and McConnell, who should be setting an example for freshman congressman, instead showing their stupidity in following one. I also see my 2 senators from South Dakota, John Thune and Mike Rounds showing their stupidity in sighing the letter. I do believe all these senators have but one plan in mind by signing this letter and it really has nothing to do with Iran but rather with the opportunity to undermine this president by any means possible. I believe these people better get their heads out of their hind ends and start working for the American people instead of their private reasons for doing things.
*   Parodying the GOPers can be a challenge because they self-parody so thoroughly.
*  Tom Cotton failed to persuade a majority of his own colleagues to sign that letter. In America, the majority is at least 50% plus one, so how would only 47 senators be able to reverse any decision made by a president? Republican lawmakers really need to brush up on their math skills. Mr. Cotton also brought up a reason why senators need term limits just like the president.

Senate Democrat Trolls Tom Cotton So Hard
By Zach Carter, March 26, 2015

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) delivered a pitch-perfect trolling lesson to the Senate on Wednesday, filing an amendment calling to defund "the purchase of stationary [sic] or electronic devices for the purpose of members of Congress or congressional staff communicating with foreign governments and undermining the role of the President as Head of State in international nuclear negotiations on behalf of the United States."

In other words, Stabenow wants to defund Tom Cotton letters.

Earlier this month, Cotton, a Republican senator from Arkansas, organized a letter to Iranian leaders warning that future presidents may not abide by a deal to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions currently being negotiated by the Obama administration. Cotton garnered 46 additional GOP co-sponsors, and outraged even many critics of the Iran talks for addressing the letter directly to top Iranian government officials and bypassing the executive branch, which is constitutionally charged with negotiating foreign pacts.

Stabenow's dig at Cotton almost certainly won't become law. Like most budget amendments, it's a non-binding resolution, not a formal funding decree, and Republicans are unlikely to even bring it up for a vote.

But these legislative dominance rituals often do have real political consequences, even when they do not result in direct policy changes. Cotton's Iran letter has been politically unpopular, and even simply raising the issue through the amendment process could force senators who signed the letter to take another round of heat.
