COMMENTS:
* Racism is a difficult thing to face up to in our society, especially when a good Journalist brings it front and center. Trump is a mirror for the face of racism in this Country and we all know looking in the mirror to face our demons is not a pleasant thing to do. Trump is the opportunity, however sickening, for our Country to once again deal with the truth of still lingering racism that continues to stain our Nation. The sooner we deal with it, the healthier we all will be.
* As a registered Indepenent I find it interesting that people who dislike Trum are willing to alienate 50% of the country by putting him down. They lose readers and viewers doing this.
* Idiot. Trump is willing to alienate ninety percent of the country, and you think that's peachy. And if you think fifty percent of the country is "alienated" by criticism of the Fat Orange Jellyfish, you need to get ALL your parts checked.
* Rejecting Muslims,Mexicans,Disabled and others is not good for our democracy or the world.Look at what this toxic atmosphere he has created !Karma is a bitch !
* 50 peolple were killed in Fla. by a guy who was born in New York, Maybe we should ban all New York muslims from entering our country! Show me a Trump supporter and I will show you a person who is more than likely.....DUMB!!
* We need to shame all Trump supporters! Conservative racism and bigotry is not the answer.

Defending Trump is unacceptable
The indestructible, short-fingered Trumpus Americanus is a cockroach in the GOP's cocktail.
By Christian Schneider, June 12, 2016
Imagine a time when you were jumping out of your skin in anticipation of a first date. You take the other person to a swank restaurant, sit down and order your drinks. But when your libations arrive, there appears to be a large cockroach lounging in your glass.
"Um, waiter, there appears to be an insect in my Manhattan," you protest. So the waiter reaches in, plucks the roach out of your drink with his fingers, and hurls it toward the kitchen.
"Salud," he says, sliding the drink back to you.
If you are a Republican in 2016, it would make total sense for you to gulp it down, as if a filthy hexapod had never been vacationing in your cocktail. That's because the Republican Party has its own cockroach to deal with: the short-fingered Trumpus Americanus, an indestructible pest who happens to be its presidential nominee.
Ever since endorsing Trump, GOP politicians have climbed on top of one another to disavow his pronouncement that Mexican-American and Muslim-American judges are ethnically incapable of doing their jobs. Trump has repeatedly said he thought federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel had a conflict of interest in a fraud case against Trump University because Curiel was "a Mexican." As it turns out, Curiel was born in the exotic nation known as Indiana, the same place that birthed Mexican NBA legend Larry Bird.
After Trump demonstrated such overt racism, his Republican supporters immediate renounced their endorsements, thereby saving the soul of the party and their own personal dignity. Hah! Just kidding, that didn't happen at all.
House Speaker Paul Ryan, who endorsed Trump late last week, called Trump's comments "textbook" racism, but vowed to continue supporting him. New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who is in a tough fight to retain her seat, said Trump's comments were "offensive and wrong," and urged him to retract them, but is continuing to support Trump. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said that endorsing Trump over Hillary Clinton "doesn't mean I embrace all the things that he says or all the ways that he says it."
But one cannot simply compartmentalize Trump's odious statements, picking and choosing which ones with which to agree. His racist, intemperate ramblings poison any other positions he may take or any promises he may make to appoint a conservative to the Supreme Court. Escaping culpability for endorsing Trump is like being caught watching The Bachelorette and explaining you watch it for the interior decorating tips.
This blind obeisance to party is particularly puzzling, given that nobody can explain why deference to Trump is all that important. If a leading Republican politician were to say, "Trump is a vulgar racist lout who also happens to stand against everything conservatives have fought for decades to achieve," would GOP voters hold that against him or her in the next election? It seems the damage being done to the Republican Party right now still could be offset by the goodwill such a conservative leader would engender by being the voice of sanity.
Keep in mind that Trump is arguing Curiel is biased against positions Trump has taken on Mexican immigration. Trump's argument appears to be that he should be able to influence the outcome of a pending case against him by slandering the judge overseeing the proceedings — we always knew Trump was a racial simpleton, but judge-tampering adds a new, fresh layer to his abhorrence.
Certainly, not all Trump supporters are white supremacists — but you can bet that white supremacists will all be voting for Trump. It's simply unacceptable for the Republican Party to be in the position of defending a candidate by saying, "Well, he's not racist most of the time."
And if Republicans continue to allow Trump to befoul the party, The Donald, like the tenacious cockroach, will outlive the GOP altogether.
