"Perry asserted that it's about access to health care, not about whether you force somebody to buy insurance." You fool! How do they pay for that health care without insurance?

COMMENTS:
*  Does Perry think we're idiots? You don't get access to healthcare, if you can't pay for it. You pay for it with insurance. Perry knows that and dodged the question saying they have more medical specialists now than 10 years ago. Big deal. If you don't have insurance you can't get in to see them. You're shut out, and out of luck. Perry doesn't give the working poor ObamaCare, he gives them "I Don't Care."
*  perry isnt foolin anyone he is a complete dope and he didnt answer the question and how to you force people to get insurance when they cant get it in the first place.  fox news is definately running interference and creating very weak candidates
*  These republicans sure have a hard time answering a question when peoples lives are at stake. Fetuses..... Oh they are all over that..... but people, not so much.
*  Let's see. In his tiny little brain making it hard to sue a doctor is more important than making obtaining heath insurance easy.
    *  And don't forget his measure of success is adding doctors that people can't afford to be treated by!
*  This is why I left texas.. because of narrow minded idiot republicans like perry.. what a fcking moron.
*  So exactly what qualifications does anybody in the Republican field have to date that's going to get enough votes to win the Presidency? Unfortunately for you there aren't enough old white people anymore to carry a national election.
*   It was a Republican idea that the Democrats picked up. And it makes a heck of a lot of sense to have healthier Americans, rather than let millions be shut out because of an insurance system that was running amok. ACA is working great, despite the efforts of people like Perry to resist it.

Wallace Presses Perry: Do You Feel 'Responsibility' for Uninsured Texans?
By Fox News Insider, June 21, 2015

2016 Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry spoke to Chris Wallace today in a "Fox News Sunday" exclusive interview.

Wallace noted that Perry is campaigning with a strong populist message and pointed out that when Perry was governor of Texas, more than one in five Texans didn't have health coverage.

"Is that looking out for the little guy, when 21 percent of Texans didn't have health insurance?" Wallace asked.

"If how you keep score is how many people you force to buy insurance, well, then I would say that that's how you keep score," Perry said. "Let me explain what we do in Texas. And this is a state by state decision. We make access to health care the real issue. We passed the most sweeping tort reform in the nation. We've got 35,000 more physicians licensed to practice medicine in 2013 than we did a decade before that."

Perry asserted that it's about access to health care, not about whether you force somebody to buy insurance.

As the governor for 14 years, don't you feel some responsibility when 21 percent of the people in your state didn't have health insurance? Wallace pressed.

"But that's not how we keep score," Perry insisted. "I think it's a fallacy to say access to health care is all about insurance. What will happen to say in the state of Texas is we're going to try to make it accessible as we can, good quality health care. And that's what we've done in the state of Texas."
