Brat "... now sits in the House of Representatives as a nut on one of its highest branches ..."

COMMENTS:
*  Not to make fun of a name (oh, hell, who am I kidding), Brat is the perfect name for this particular jerk. Much better than Cantor for his congressional district....
    *  As I was just saying: Brat by name, brat by nature...
*  "[Brat] said that the conservative movement 'needs to reeducate its people that we own the entire tradition' of Christian love, because liberal professors 'have rejected natural law' and religious ideas."  Calling this 'nonsense' is an insult to fine nonsense everywhere.
*  The "natural law" stuff makes me nervous. Right up there with our "god-given" second amendment. What is wrong with the Founders being human beings?  Does it detract from their credibility if they aren't divine?
*  Everyone these people support is divine, and everyone they hate is satanic. Its a really simple way to manage truth, and while it has the disadvantage of causing you to believe most of the modern world is pure magic apparently it gets you elected to Congress in Virginia.
*   An argument could be made that there is no Christian God simply from the fact that Dave Bratt was not struck dead immediatlyt after the things he said.  ..."we own the entire tradition of Christian love." Serious?

Area Republican Godsplains Politics to the President
Dave Brat doesn't like President Obama using "the Christian tradition" for political purposes.
By Charles P. Pierce, January 13, 2016

Dave Brat, the Tea Party loon who beat Eric Cantor in a primary, and who now sits in the House of Representatives as a nut on one of its highest branches, apparently is a bit of a theologian. This is much like saying that Louie Gohmert is a bit of an astrophysicist.
The president, Brat said, "is using the Christian tradition and trying to bring about compassion by bonking Republicans over the head with the Bible. It's almost a comedy routine on what compassion and love is. He's mocking his enemies in order to compel a larger federal state using the tradition of love." He said that the conservative movement "needs to reeducate its people that we own the entire tradition" of Christian love, because liberal professors "have rejected natural law" and religious ideas.
Hmmm, so much from the gospels, so little time. Let's just stop right here in the 13th chapter of Mark, shall we?
And if any man say to you, lo, here is the Christ or, lo, he is there, believe him not. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise and shall shew signs and wonders to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Geez, these really are the fcking mole people.
