Why do you live out those songs that you wrote?

ESPN pulled Hank Williams Jr.'s classic intro song from its broadcast of Monday night's NFL game after the country singer famous for the line ''Are you ready for some football?'' used an analogy to Adolf Hitler in discussing President Barack Obama.
Hank Williams Jr.
In an interview Monday morning on Fox News' ''Fox & Friends,'' Williams, unprompted, said of Obama's outing on the links with House Speaker John Boehner: ''It'd be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu.''
Asked to clarify, Williams said, ''They're the enemy,'' adding that by ''they'' he meant Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
Anchor Gretchen Carlson later said to him, ''You used the name of one of the most hated people in all of the world to describe, I think, the president.'' Williams replied, ''Well, that is true. But I'm telling you like it is.''

Remember, this is the man that wrote the song that asks ........
"Hank, why do you drink?  Why do you roll smoke?"

Remember when Bush was compared to Hitler constantly by the left? No comments then, only crickets chirping. Oh the hypocrisy!

Hey look, the first comment that made any sense in here for YEARS! You actually may increase the number of viewers to this site into double digits now!

Two comments by an "Anonymous" (or a couple of them) who obviously is too chicken-hearted to ask to become a member.

That's funny coming from someone who's screen name is anonymous itself! I have no desire to register on this site, but if you must know who I am I go by the name of Larry_Phill in the Olympian (previously radec) and used to post in the TNT as Radec and Saduj_Togracse. Perhaps you have come across my many thought provoking comments? Now that we are all acquainted perhaps we can stop with personal attacks?

I can only speak for myself when I say I have never been concerned about going "into double digits". I joined ThurstonBlog to share what I find interesting or funny and to see what these great people feel is of interest. Most of all I joined in hopes that I would have a place that I could tell certain people to fuck off in an uncensored fashion and they will hopefully get the message. The more evidence I see of these people responding to things on ThurstonBlog the more I know I came to the right place.
Thank you for stopping by.

It took 45,000 page views to prove that an asshole is still an asshole????? And it congratulated itself?

I guess "Anonymous" missed the line in our heading...

"if you are....."

more than one of us can be Anonymous

Fun, huh?

I don't recall anyone in entertainment losing a valuable asset because they were so fucking stupid as to call Bush "Hitler".

Maybe an example is in order.

Now, on the other side...there are many similarities between Hitler's regime and things that happened during the Bush Administration.

I think the real issue here is that Williams is too fucking stupid to comprehend his own fucking stupidity.

Stupidity and arrogance often go hand in hand... see previous posts by "anonymous" aka radec aka larry phill et al.

Example, ok... Linda Ronstadt "It's like Germany, before Hitler took over. The economy was bad and people felt kicked around. They looked for a scapegoat. Now we've got a new bunch of Hitlers."

Of course nothing happened to her, in fact you have to search the depths of the internet to even find it. Which is kind of the point, there's a double standard.

Now, personally I think the Hank Williams Jr. comment was stupid and ESPN has the right to pull his song. But I remember the constant name-calling and NAZI comparisons for 8 years, and now all of the sudden everyone is outraged? Oh and there is no comparison between Bush and Hitler or NAZI Germany, anyone who thinks so has no understanding of what actually took place between 1933-1945 in Germany.

So far I've been called chicken-hearted, stupid, and arrogant and that's only after 1 day. My second comment was meant as a joke guess some people take things way too seriously. I'll be happy to keep commenting in here if you all want to actually discuss and debate, but I'm not into the whole personal attacks thing so if that's how it's going to be I'll just stop.

You missed "asshole". As to everything else..if the foo shits..

Please...keep whining here so that the general media in the Puget Sound region doesn't have to put up with you and your bullshit.

As to the "quote" attributed to Rondstadt.....well gosh...all I can find are source like "boycottliberalism.com" and "FreeRepublic"

A real mainstream quote, huh?

Now there was this - "Singer Linda Ronstadt was thrown out of the Aladdin casino in Las Vegas on the weekend after dedicating a song to liberal film maker Michael Moore and his movie "Fahrenheit 9/11," a casino spokeswoman said on Monday."

Yeah....you have to love the way those Conservatives celebrate freedom of speech.....

Here's what Lovely Linda DID SAY:

(according to Free Republic ::vomit::)

"It's like Germany, before Hitler took over. The economy was bad and people felt kicked around. They looked for a scapegoat. Now we've got a new bunch of Hitlers"

Please explain how that is calling George Bush "Hitler"...not to mention "the enemy"....

Oh and radecsadujetalasshole....

Don't expect a warm reception when you have a history of being a fuckhead AND attack the blog that you spend half your life monitoring.

I never expected to be warmly welcomed, however was hoping for at least some amount of civil debate and discourse. Now that I see it is not possible, and everyone else can see who the ones are who resort to personal attacks and vile language against others. No worries, I'll get out of your sandbox, I've found it to be just a litter box anyway.

Hmmm, been away for a while, must have missed something. One of the benefits of this forum is it doesn't allow anonymous trolls. Was this just an experiment or the new norm?

Kardnos said...

xyzzy....

We've had a regular visitor (guess who) that has repeatedly logged on to the same page up to 30 some times a day.

I wanted to flush the asshole out.

I did.

Don't you enjoy their passive aggressive "oh poor me"?

Kardnos said...

Oh...and the "vile language" on our blog is the same fuckin' vile language on the Conservative blog whose fuckin' name isn't fuckin' mentioned on this fuckin' blog.

If the fuckin' language bothers you so much....don't fuckin' visit the blog 20 to 40 times a fuckin' day.

Aside from our fuckin' language....you'll not see a rollover of my ass in a thong....
