Did the world seem a little better this morning? It should because Andrew Breitbart died last night. Breitbart was "famous" for posting the edited video that made Shirley Sherrod appear to be a racist. (See Shirley Sherrod reflects on her link to Andrew Breitbart for an after-the-fact overview.)
As Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone put it, it was Andrew Breitbart: Death of a Douche. Taibbi wrote, "So Andrew Breitbart is dead. Here’s what I have to say to that, and I’m sure Breitbart himself would have respected this reaction: Good! Fuck him. I couldn’t be happier that he’s dead."
Some of the comments posted to Remembering Andrew Breitbart are priceless:
* "R.I.P.U.P.O.S."
* "Breitbart died of the poison that filled him and with which he ruined the lives of others."
* "I guess Satan needed a blogger. He found the right man for the job."
* "Tragic. A voice of sour hatred is silenced. Whatever shall we do?"
* "Those who breed hatred should not be shocked if people are relieved at their demise. Breitbart lied and caused great harm but refused to aplogize. That is the signature of a psychopath. Without celebrating anyone's death, I think it fair to say that we are better off when psychopaths are no longer doing their evil."
* "... Breitbart was producing garbage, he was a liar who deceived everyone, irrespective of their politics. He spread falsehood. Phoney videos can be the worst offense. ..."
The report is that his death was due to "natural causes". Posted to the item on Gawker.com is the following:
* "Would karma be considered a 'natural cause?'"

I'm hearing there is a toxicology report due
It won't matter what it says. I agree with the poster who said he died of the poison that filled him.
