Leonard Pitts' latest column is about Limbaugh, and it ends with the following:
He's definitely a beady-eyed, squawking, garbage-dump-inhabiting seagull. And of course the GOP is the garbage-dump!The GOP has been so overrun by extremists that “moderate” is now an epithet and the moderate Republican Olympia Snowe just ran for the door. Sacking Rush Limbaugh would not fix that. The problem is not a conservative talk show host, but conservatism itself as presently construed.It has become a landfill. Limbaugh is just a seagull circling the top.

BTW, the title of Pitts' piece as originally printed in his home newspaper, the Miami Herald, was Sex, lies and GOP extremism. In the News Tribune and other papers, it was The Limbaugh rock: How low can you go?; some papers gave it the title of Today's Conservatism Is A Landfill. I think the original title is the best one! LOL
