What is up with those assholes, especially the ones who assume without any proof that it was murder-suicide?
Even if it was murder/suicide, we are talking serious mental illness here. Tragic? Yes.
Maybe when we find it within ourselves to work with governmental agencies to create societal safety nets for the mentally ill, we might be able to minimize incidents like these
I agree with you Larry but sometimes tragedy just happens. I was hoping for a happy ending to this story but I have lived too long and lost too many friends to fool myself. This is simply sad, sad for the loss of lives and sad for those who feel the need to cast judgment. More compassion, less bullshit.
My thoughts are with the living, especially our friend sidrat38. Sid, in a perfect world things would have gone differently. Although poor consolation, please remember hindsight is 20/20. Don't needlessly beat yourself up over this. You are a good man.

Anon, I too was struck by the humanity of Mac_wade's comment. There might be hope for us all after all.
A lot of questions still remain in this bizarre situation, but finding the little boy the way they did is the worst possible answer that nobody wanted to hear.
The usual suspects who make asses of themselves on a daily basis at the "O" can be counted on to continue as same, but my concern now is that real people like sidrat (and others who have been affected by this strange tragedy) be shown care and compassion. I don't believe I've met him, but I sure hope someone in his life is there to give him comfort. He has a kind and generous heart, and like the rest of us mere mortals, he can't be expected to see around corners to know what's happening next.
Compassionate words, A_T_G and a_r_w.... too often we "mere mortals" use hindsight to beat ourselves up. "If only ..." are not words we can live our lives by-- we have to go with our best judgment at the time.
I know that sidrat is aware that we are here to help in whatever way he would like us to, and I trust that he (and anybody else here) will ask as needed. Shared pain is bearable pain.

I guess "closure" would be more accurate...
Just the pain of not knowing is worse than having an answer..At least now we know something..
