A classic in Conservative Converstation

I begin...

We all receive our health care from the same place - doctors, practicioners and medical facilities.

Some of us pay for insurance, others get it as a perk of former employment through collective bargaining and others enjoy what the Federal government provides.

Then there are those with no resourses. They are looked upon with distain by those who have government care.

Those who have "government care", via Medicare/SS, for the most part have paid into that "insurance program" for over 40 YEARS ! A good portion of those with "no resources" have NEVER paid a plug nickle into any program. They are what could be termed, serial takers and abusers of our systems ! And you encourage these people to keep taking, with absolutely no requirement on their part to contribute anything.

What the hell kind of family do you come from that's taught you not to take responsibility for yourself ? Or at least be a bit grateful for what others are GIVING you, rather than just expecting more.

Now, before I go further, it is readily apparent that kd1808 threw the first stone, right?

So, I retort...

kd1808 - if you take the amount that you paid into Medicare for "40 years" you'd have, maybe $20,000 in the pot. One heart attack will cost you $100K.

Learn how insurance pools work.

Many paid into Medicare for 40 years and didn't cash in because their catastrophic illness kicked in before age 65.

Learn reality.

My family taught me responsibility for my fellow man. Yours taught you to be selfish.

I'm sorry for you.

I further educate...

"the employer must withhold 1.45% of an employee's wages and must pay a matching amount for Medicare tax."

IF you made $40,000 each year of 40 years (extremely rare) your contribution AND your employer's matching contribution (by socialist law of "sharing the wealth") would total $48,000.

One ICU stay and a heart surgery will easily hit $100,000. Someone is picking up the tab for YOU.

The verbal joust continues and you can find it on the LTE forum, but it's a classic example of how they want to engage and then get pissed off when you engage them. Then the additional personal assaults begin, but if you throw one back, they whine.
