Columnist, wordsmith James Kilpatrick dead at 89
I didn't care for his politics, but as a writer, Kilpatrick was unparalleled, and I always looked forward to his columns about the English language.
If the shoe fits, wear it: "... in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt." -- Bertrand Russell
"There's no firewall for stupidity." -- Mike Hamilton
"I won't insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said." -- William F. Buckley, Jr.
"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true." -- Søren Kierkegaard

I, too, enjoyed his column and wish there were more people who understood and valued the English language w/ as much passion as he did. Very sad to hear of his passing.
