"Conservatives" are already backing down on spending and debt

SPENDING: Conservatives already backing down

LTE to the TNT by Larry Hill, Olympia
Published November 9, 2010

Two weeks since the election and "conservatives" are already backing down on spending and debt.

Those terrible, terrible earmarks that the GOP and Karl Rove railed at Patty Murray are now too "complicated" to cut, according to Mitch McConnell.

Rand Paul, Mr. Stop Spending himself, is now saying he will go after Kentucky's fair share of earmarks. You have to hand it to Rand, though; he is going to cast a showcase vote against raising the debt ceiling (knowing he will be outvoted). At the same time, he is going to vote for the tax cuts that will raise the debt ceiling.

The Republican/Tea Party never ceases to amaze me. I would have figured they'd wait until January to be sworn in before backing down on all their campaign rhetoric.
