Or is that Dumbsqual?

Most disabilities do not make a person stupid or less intelligent than anyone else.

Some disabilities such as many forms of mental illness do make some people less intelligent or harder to fit in to society or follow rules and regulations or treat people with general respect and not to harm others than the general population.

From personal experience I find it tiresome to listen to SOME of those with mental disabilities preach at conferences and forums how the are much more enlightened and better their 'kind are compared to MOST of those in society. How the mentally ill are all artists and poets and writers but are neglected or put down or kept down by regular persons and are thus undiscovered!.

What I and most others find is that MANY of them need to stop the illegal and unproscribed drugs and alcohol, stop stealling from or hitting people, use birth control, bathe regularly using soap, and take any job in order to train themselves to become part of society.

Most of them would have had a job, barrring the 2nd Great Depression now, if they stopped taking the dang illegal drugs and booze, but they don't. They take on various lablesof 'dual diagnosis" and see themselves as above the rest of society, grab their welfare and disability checks if they can get them, and hang around down town or in the woods drugged and mentally out of it being a drain on society.

Therefore, kudos and congrats to those with disabilities that seek to trully better themselves, look for work, get an education, volunteer to help others, and stay sober and useful to society!!!!
