Yes, indeed! They're clever, too-- look how they've spaced themselves almost evenly around the dish. LOL

Actually it's 4 little glass dishes, filled with warmed half and half, and I think their my cats. Really, I'm the perfectly trained human!

Oh sparkle. Warm half and half!?! Can I be your pet too?

Like my mom, (a cat owner) always says..

Dogs have owners...

Cats have staff..

So true, about being staff! Now if we organized , we could call ourselves:
American Cat Labor (or Lovers) Union (ACLU).

Anon, I'd be glad to adopt you, as long as you have four legs to the ground, and you'd lap 1/2 & 1/2 from a glass bowl on the kitchen floor!

I noticed JoeBM/IV has a dog for his avatar and it got me thinking about the differences between cat people and dog people. Dogs are known for blind loyalty. A person who fancies having a dog may desire one because of a need to have unconditional love from a creature that surrenders control. Dogs will eat whatever scraps you feed them and be happy with it. Dogs can be trained to submit. They can be used as tools. Dogs are owned.

Cats need their freedom to come and go as they please and if they don't like their current conditions they will leave. Cats need to be loved and respected before they give love and respect. A person who loves cats likes to take care of them and expects nothing in return. Cats won't fetch your slippers or scare away strangers(most anyways) or swim for a duck after "master" shoots it from the sky. Cats are friends.

So with all these things in mind it does make one think about what being a cat person is and a dog person is. I would love to see a reliable survey on how many conservative people favor dogs. It would just seem fitting to me that they would enjoy a companion that surrenders easily and will live on whatever crap they are given. I know I paint with a broad brush but what do you think?

That would be an interesting survey. The trick, of course, is to make it reliable and to keep the neocons from gaming it. :-)

Do ya think the klown has a lap dog? If so, poor poor puppy!

Nah, she probably has some unwholesome, ugly creature for a pet..... cockroach? slug? bed bug? any other candidates?

She seems like a snake kind of gal to me.

Augh, please don't dis' the poor reptile!

Island: Ms. SK is a snake girl. Nothing warms her tiny little heart like tossing naked pink blind rat babies to a cold blooded reptile. She really likes the part the rat babies fumbling toward their death. Her only regret is she does not own a snake big enough to eat non-Caucasian children and Liberals.
And you are wrong about the political leanings of dog owners. I want soviets and dog parks.

Sparkle: Damn it. I'd lap up the half and half but I fail on the leg thing. Right after I posted I figured your Hubby might have a problem with the whole me being a pet thing.

Four legs good, two legs bad. That is the law.

Mr. Sparkle has a sense of humor, except for the Mr. Sparkle name!! LOL Besides he has NEVER read a word I've ever posted, (listening to me is bad enough!), don't think he even knows where I post, though, he is as progressive as the best of them.

Anon: I think your spot on about the snake feeding scenario. However, for some reason I picture a mini railroad track with a albino mouse dental flossed to one end and the snake traveling down the other. SocKdra is rolling her waxed mustache in each hand and laughing maniacally.

My theory on the dog ownership is about as bullet proof as a spaghetti strainer. I'm just curious how it would shake down. There are some great hounds that I know but I just like it nice and quite. I'm with you on the dog parks.
