A bottle of scotch and an oz?

“If you believe that it is OK for kids in school to use marijuana and be high, then you should pass either one or both of these,” said Don Pierce, executive director of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs.

This was testimony during the Legislature discussion about the legalization and sale of marijuana to adults via liquor stores. The obvious intention is to close the black market and make tax money.

I happen to know Don Pierce and I know his intentions are good, but in reality he is a lobbyist. I'm not sure why Police Chiefs and Sheriffs would not want to see the black market eliminated (by competitive pricing....let's face it...pot is cheap to grow) nor do I understand why they would oppose more tax revenue to increase their manpower.

Any thoughts?

If all the illegal pot growers / sellers were not sent to federal prison, our great privatized federal prison system might fail...or need a bail-out!

Removing tongue from cheek now.....
