Unbiased moderation

Well, folks, we now have "moderator" Tammy McGee chiming in her agreement with Sondra K because The Great Anon had that audacity to call glenn on his thread baiting.

Since McGee wants to get public, I think everyone needs to know about my email exchange with her, so that people can further examine how inept and incompetent she is as a moderator of a community thread in the local newspaper:

Read from bottom up for context:

I can’t imagine why I would frequently change my moniker? Could it be because of the number of times my personal information has been outted?

I’m a reader/commenter, thus a customer, Tammy. Is there now a “code of professionalism” concerning a reader/commenter? I follow the rules of the comments threads and if I happen to inadvertently violate them, my comments are deleted (sometimes without violation, but I’m done trying to figure that one out).

As a blog author, I was contacted by Lee about making sure that all tags from The Olympian be present when The Olympian is quoted. We honored that with no arguments. That is professionalism.

I provided proof of publication in my original compliant about the copyright infringement and you chose to challenge me with this “proof” issue.

Now as to your accusation of “baiting” – I’m guessing that you don’t like me challenging certain regular contributors that post baseless assertions. I’ll suggest that it’s not baiting, but you’ll have to live with your opinions, although your obvious bias will probably make it difficult for you to be a fair moderator. Again, I’ll live with it. If I keep my expectations low, I’ll not be easily disappointed.

I treat people as I am treated. If you want to challenge me, don’t expect me to back down. If I had no grievance, you would not have heard one word from me. I have golfed with your staff, I’ve dined with your staff, I’ve agreed with your staff and I’ve disagreed with your staff. I’m not your boogeyman.

Welcome to the newspaper business. To quote John Winn Miller – “I know that when I wake up each morning, at least half of my readers are probably pissed off at me”.

Well, gee, Larry. We’ll be sure to delete the avatar. I wasn’t aware that an attempt on our part to be fair, and not jump to conclusions, was making things difficult for you.

As far as our unprofessionalism is concerned, please don’t speak to me about behaving in a professional manner, since I’m not really sure exactly who you are on our website this week. but I will no doubt be able to figure it out as soon as you begin baiting, and playing the games you’ve become so adept at playing on our site.

If you want to be treated by us with respect or professionalism, I suggest you do the same with our website, our commenters, and our staff.

Well, gee, Tammy. I thought the copyright on the homepage of my website would be adequate. I sent the link with my original compliant. It’s not a photo, but computer generated artwork.

Why do you people make this so difficult?

I find it fascinating that your publisher runs editorials about challenges on the comments threads but when confronted by a blatant copyright infringement for purposes of antagonism, you want to play games with me.

You’ll note I cc’d my attorney on this matter. I’m really tired of the lack of professionalism on the part of The Olympian staff.

Please don’t’ try to falsely engage me again on copyright infringement. You embarrassed yourself last time. Anything published with a copyright is copyrighted. You can engage that argument with my attorney if you’d prefer.

Larry;

We would be happy to remove the avatar (photo) in question, if indeed it is a copyrighted image. Please forward a copy of your copyright form to us, as we can’t just delete the photo without something to tell us who this photo actually belongs to.

Thank you,

Now, as is quite obvious, McGee has decided to take sides. I enjoy how she accused me of baiting people on their site, yet when Anon points out glenn's obvious baiting and Sondra K adds to said baiting by playing the "not the subject" game (as if she is always on point), Tammy decides to publically take sides.

No wonder Tammy claimed to have suspended Anon's "other names". She thinks Anon is "someone else" and thought she'd do a little "leveling of the playing field".

Nice try, Tammy, but you screwed the pooch.

What a snarky asshole.

Did ya get that Tammy?

Today you really abdicated any pretense of being an impartial moderator. It is painfully clear you really have no intention of applying the Community Publishing Guidelines on anyone save those who have the audacity that you actually DO YOUR DAMN JOB.

So what if people challenge you and/or the lying batshit crazies you now seem to have cast your lot in with? It's a rough and tumble world out there even more so with the rise of an American neo-fascist movement. Perhaps you would be more comfortable editing a church bulletin.

Oh, and you really need to get up to speed on copyright law. You have repeatedly demonstrated your profound ignorance on the topic. I bet George M. can give you the salient points in under an hour.

Perhaps when you become controversial enough you bosses will realize at long last what a detriment you are to the Olympian and re-assign you to a less public position with the organization for for you display the tact and common sense of a weasel on speed.

Now let's see you ferret out my new user name.

By 9:47 someone had realized Tammy's 'likes' of LaserBeam/Sondrak's drivel defending, and I use that term loosely, of glenn's usual insulting and quasi-obscene crap stepped over the line and were pulled.

Like all those Right Wing Morons it is painfully easy to get them to say and do the stupidest things.

Nite Nite Tammy.
