How about Louisiana styled politics?

- A financial disclosure report released Friday shows that the Louisiana judge who struck down the Obama administration's six-month ban on deep-water drilling in the Gulf has sold many of his energy investments. U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman still owns eight energy-related investments, including stock in Exxon Mobil Corp. Among the assets he sold was stock in Transocean, which owned the rig that exploded.

One does wonder.... Also, WHEN did he sell his stock in Transocean?

I don't think he has direct stock in transocean, but in a company that has THE LARGEST HOLDINGS in transocean. Rachel Maddow traced it down beautifully, though I forgot the name of the "holding" company. He sold his Exxon Mobil stock on he same morning, just prior to his ruling. Those 33 deep ocean wells also directly effect Exxon Mobil.

"just prior to his ruling"... Any judge who owns any stock at any time in any entity involved in a court proceeding the judge is ruling on should recuse her/himself!

I agree 100%
Not unlike a vice president having interest in defence companies, and industrial construction companies that hold huge govt. contracts. Nevermind the "stock" in the private federal prison companies. As my husband puts it, this country is "pretty fucked up
in regards to this stuff.

Cheney's in the hospital again, guess they are trying once again to find his heart.

Cheney's heart is probably in a tar ball someplace on a Gulf beach.

Transocean seems to be a popular holding w mutual funds. I recently made some decisions to transfer retirement $$ into several funds, and both Transocean and Haliburton were listed w/ a number of them. Was careful to avoid both.

As for Cheney's heart, it has to be made of well-seasoned cast iron: cold, black, lifeless, and nothing much sticks to it.
