Gov. Jan Brewer said in a recent interview that her father died fighting Nazis in Germany. Brewer made the comment to The Arizona Republic while talking about the criticism she has taken since signing SB 1070, the new immigration law that makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally.
"Knowing that my father died fighting the Nazi regime in Germany, that I lost him when I was 11 because of that... and then to have them call me Hitler's daughter. It hurts. It's ugliness beyond anything I've ever experienced," Brewer said in the story, published Tuesday.
Only one problem. Brewer's father died in 1955 from lung disease.

Das ist eine reiche Scheiße dort!
Good un! Rich indeed! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!
So this woman is making a claim that puts her at least 10 yrs. older than she is (given that V-E day was in May of '45)... What kind of woman does that?
Ja, das ist reiche.
It amazes me that folks aspirant or in actual elected office make claims and tell stories they should know are false, stories a few minutes of Googling will destroy. These folk either believe their own misrepresentations or think they will get away with a bit of truth stretching.
In Ms Brewer's case she wasn't even close to the Wiggle Room. It was a flat out lie calculated to make her the victim in the debate over a law that codifies racial profiling. It that a Double Godwin's Law violation?
