Although I know my blog is the backup for when The O has to shut down, my kudos to their moderator (I sent an email accordingly). 12/9's LTE comment thread was near perfect. I think the message is getting through loud and clear.
Brian Baird is resigning. Who do you think will be the Democratic candidate? The Republican from Vancouver is ridiculously under qualified (I did a search and suggest others do same). I'm wondering if Sam Hunt has enough recognition outside Thurston County.

Larry, since you have the ear of the PTBs at the Olympian, would you suggest to them that the drop-down menu for reporting abuse needs to have more options. They should add at least "Off-topic" and "Abusive" to better match the language of their rules.

I've forwarded both to the contact at the Olympian.
Truthfully, anyone that treats them with respect will get the same in return. The Olympian staffers are just people in the community like us. I'm not sure if their software will allow such changes, but I'd guess they'd appreciate your interest.
Next issue - yes, tmcgee is a staffer (information that is on their website, thus I'm not violating anyone's privacy).
I appreciated the warning as I was part of the discussion that was sliding sideways and....let's face it - I'm not perfect, so I could have been just as guilty as anyone else.
I think it was great that tmcgee handled it in that manner.
Again....my kudos to The Olympian.
